It's a quirky, old fashioned place. We were lucky to stay in two of the upstairs heritage rooms but that meant climbing a tall, thin stairwell. One room had two twins that made sleeping together as a couple difficult. Buy a big mattress! The other was lovely and charming as was the first but the hot water situation wasn't great. The gardens are lovely. The outdoor tea on the lawn while limited was charming. The food at the restaurant at night not good for us. At breakfast they were willing to accommodate me and put out sautéed vegetables and that was lovely. Anish at the front desk is a charming and sweet person. I love the look of this hotel a lot but it could use a little work like fixing the shower to keep the hot water flowing. The pillows were great. Loved the birds and the peacocks on the lawn. Exploring the Gwalior fort and some amazing surrounding temples was wonderful.

Neemrana Gwalior was one of the best places we ever stayed in India. We would highly recommend this to one and all. The poignant setting reminds us of all of the beauty that was India. Gwalior is a chaotic small town but this place is a gem. The care with which these buildings have been redone and maintained is truly commendable. The staff were very courteous and the cooks were wonderful. The food was delicious. They even had high tea in the gardens. The gardens are surrounded by small temples from the 16 to 17th centuries. The gardens attract a variety of birds including peacocks. We look forward to returning to this place again for a longer stay.

The property is as beautiful as in the pictures , a quite historic jewel right in the centre of Gwalior within easy reach of all historic monuments. The staff is really well trained and the Managers took great care of attending to all our special requests. The quality of food was very nice as well. The property houses some temples and other tiny marvels. The central lawns are so spacious with peacocks wandering around. The rooms are very spacious as well. We had a great time here and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Gwalior.

The property is charming and clean. A boutique property with just 16 rooms, beautiful gardens, exotic birds (we saw grey hornbills), peacocks, centuries old beautiful buildings such as the baradari in the middle of charbagh, the cenotaphs deep in the garden all add to the unique charm of a hotel in a historic city. The rooms are clean, comfortable and aesthetically done up. The staff are warm and hospitable. Food, simple but good. The fresh produce of the properties gardens adds a special touch.

Ambalika

Beautiful property. We could see many peacocks in the lawn and on the trees. The food quality and variety were excellent. The staff is very well trained and polite. I would name a few people from the restaurant - Chef Naresh and Narayan. Other staff member Ajit Parmar and one more his colleague. They have one good system of serving high tea in the sprawling lawn at 5.00 PM everyday. We had cookies, sandwiches, cakes and pakodas. We really enjoyed this.
